Sessions

I offer several different types of sessions for my clients, each catering to a unique need and personality. For more information please contact me and I can walk you through what would be the best fit for you and your family.

Portrait Sessions

A Portrait Session is custom designed to who you are. It starts with a consultation (in person or on the phone) to find out why you are ready to have your portrait taken. Some of my clients come in for big reasons like celebrating a milestone or taking a family portrait before their kids go off to college. Others simply want a yearly documentation of how much their family has grown.

Once we find out the why of the Portrait Session we will discuss the where and how. The majority of my Portrait Sessions take place in my St. Paul studio but some of my clients prefer to spend a little more to go on-location at their home or other favorite spot. We can even incorporate multiple locations into a longer session. A typical Portrait Session lasts around an hour, but can vary greatly depending on your needs.

In the end, the last question is to answer what we will do with the beautiful images we created together. I will work with you to find the best way to display your images from beautifully crafted handmade albums, to wall art, to a beautiful box of fine art giclee prints.

Signature Portraits

A Signature Session is for the creative soul who wants to go further than a typical portrait session. This session is for those who want a large art piece on their wall, or a family who is so unique that they want to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience instead of a family picture.

Signature Sessions are the perfect blend of fantasy and reality that we create together out of our collective imagination.

Signature Sessions start with a consultation (in person or on the phone) to begin the creative process. I will ask you questions about your hobbies and favorite activities. We will decide on if the art piece will be serious or hilarious. Some of my clients have a huge input into every aspect of the design while others help me come up with a rough outline and trust me from there. This is also when we will decide about additional costs such as hair and makeup or rental costumes.

Most of my Signature Sessions are typically shot in-studio using chroma key technology (green screen) and take between two and four hours depending on the intricacy of the shoot. Luckily my studio is comfortable and I have lots of snacks to keep us going.

As with all my sessions, I will work with you to find the best way to display your images from beautifully crafted handmade albums, to wall art, to a beautiful box of fine art giclee prints.

Themed Sessions

Themed Sessions are short and sweet sessions that are both an experience and a portrait session rolled into one. I offer five themed sessions each year:

  • Heartbreakers

  • Chicks

  • Love You Mom

  • #1 Dad

  • Santa at the Studio

All Themed Sessions are held at my studio and are generally on a Saturdays from 9am - 3pm. Each session is 20 minutes long with a 30 minute ordering appointment directly following your session. When you leave your session all of your decisions are done and you can go on to have a wonderful weekend with your family!

My Themed Sessions book up quickly as most of my clients purchase a Full or Half Season Pass at the beginning of the season (Passes go on sale Thanksgiving weekend during Santa at the Studio). You can purchase a Full Season Pass (all five sessions) or a Half Season Pass (your choice of 3 sessions). Season Pass Holders get priority booking times, one digital image per session, and other perks (like no-penalty rescheduling).
